China opens its market to Ukrainian honey
MOSCOW. Feb 8 (Interfax) - Kiev and Beijing have agreed on the terms of Ukrainian honey exports to China, Ukrainian media said, citing the press service for the Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
"The teamwork of the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection and the Foreign Ministry has helped complete every stage of coordination of the form of certificate for honey exports to China. The procedure of opening the Chinese honey market, which began in 2019, is now formally complete and the market is open to domestic exporters," the service said on Thursday.
This is the first market opened for exports by the service in 2024, service head Sergei Tkachuk said.
"We are planning further work on the smooth exports of Ukrainian products to enhance economic stability and increase the number of jobs in our country," he said.
The approved form of the safety certificate for Ukrainian honey exported to China has been published on the website of the Ukrainian State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection in the international cooperation section under the Ukraine export certificates title.
The service recommended that potential honey exporters study guidelines for Ukrainian state veterinarian inspectors and market operators planning to export honey to China.
"The Chinese market has a high potential for Ukrainian exports, and its opening for Ukrainian honey significantly expands opportunities for domestic producers," the service said.
