Ukrainian Railways rolling stock to increase with 120 grain hoppers this year

MOSCOW. Jan 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Railways plans to commission 120 grain hoppers for regular and European gauge this year, Ukrainian Railways Commercial Department Director Gennady Maidanik said at a meeting of the company's Export Office on Wednesday, as reported by Ukrainian media.

According to him, the recently introduced hoppers for 1,520- and 1,435-millimeter gauge are already being tested.

"By the end of the year, the company plans to replenish the fleet of the Transport Logistics Center branch with 120 grain hoppers of the kind. Their main advantage is the ability to run through the territory of Ukraine and beyond without transshipment," the Ukrainian Railways representative said.
