Kazakhstan lifts ban on Russian livestock imports - Rosselkhoznadzor
MOSCOW. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture lifted its ban on the import of live animals and livestock products from 26 regions of Russia on January 16. Restrictions were introduced due to foot and mouth disease, avian influenza, nodular dermatitis, sheep and goat pox, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) said.
The supply of live animals and poultry, meat, dairy, and all types of poultry products, along with finished products, hatching eggs, genetic material, feed, and feed additives for birds and animals, non-food and unprocessed leather raw materials, and products obtained from the slaughter of animals and birds, is now permitted. This includes used equipment for their maintenance, slaughter, and processing, as well as hunting trophies.
In addition, the transit of cattle, live sheep and goats through the territory of Kazakhstan is allowed from some regions.
