Belarus had 0.7% inflation in Nov, 4.9% in 11M
MINSK. Dec 11 (Interfax) - Consumer prices in Belarus rose 0.7% in November after rising 0.6% in October and 0.7% in September, but falling 0.3% in August, national statistics agency Belstat said.
There was 4.9% inflation for January-November 2023.
Annual inflation was 5.4% in November, up from 3.7% in October and an all-time low of 2% in September.
Core inflation fell to 0.2% in November from 0.3% in October and was 3.4% in 11M.
Food prices rose 0.1% in November and 5.2% in 11M, non-food prices rose 0.4% and 2.8% and service charges rose 0.2% and 7.2%.
Prices rose 12.8% in 2022, the most for six years, and 10% in 2021. The government is targeting inflation to slow to 7%-8% in 2023 and not more than 6% in 2024.
Belarus maintains stringent regulation of prices for almost all goods in the consumer basket, both domestic and imported, as well as for basic services.
