Ukrainian-Polish hub plans to raise 900 mln euros in investment to Ukrainian real estate market

MOSCOW. Oct 11 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian-Polish initiative PURE Hub aimed at rebuilding Ukraine, promoting investment in the Ukrainian construction market and supporting Ukrainian investors in Poland has been launched, Ukrainian media reported citing the hub's press service.

PURE Hub was co-founded by Ukrainian citizen Sergei Stolyarchuk and Poles Iwona Puchalska and Daniel Puchalski.

The Hub is cooperating with investors from all over Europe, as well as with Ukrainian and Polish development and construction companies. The total portfolio of Polish projects which are being developed by the hub members amounts to 500 million euros, while the portfolio of projects of Ukrainian development companies totals about 1 million square meters with a total value of 900 million euros.

The Hub emphasized that despite the ongoing crisis, investment activity in such sectors of the Ukrainian economy as agriculture, food production, IT, logistics, and the production of building materials is on the rise. In particular, Philip Morris, Carlsberg and others are investing in western Ukraine. Irish building materials manufacturer Kingspan wants to invest up to $280 million in the construction of new plants. Polish ceramic tile manufacturer Cersanit continues to build its plant in Ukraine.

The German government has recently decided to provide guarantees for investment in Ukraine, following which German pharmaceutical and agro-industrial giant Bayer announced its plans to invest 60 million euros in Ukraine. These guarantees can be applied even in the event of destroying property at German production facilities in Ukraine.

"Rebuilding infrastructure, demand for housing, and facilities for transport and logistics will drive the second wave of investment. This is happening soon. Those who take appropriate and responsible actions now will be ahead [...]," PURE Hub co-founder Daniel Puchalski said.

PURE Hub's activities are focused on providing professional advice, assistance in coordinating the specific needs of participants with representatives of businesses and government agencies of both countries, support of agreements, legal advice, searching for capital, establishing joint ventures and organizing social projects in the real estate sector.

"We are working on a project to launch multi-factory prefabricated construction to deliver up to 1,900 social housing units per facility annually," PURE Hub co-founder Sergei Stolyarchuk said.

At this stage, the issues of insurance for the construction of the plant are being resolved, both the number of factories and their location will depend on this, he said.

"We are now considering construction options in both Ukraine and Poland. The amount of investment in one factory is $60 million," he added.
