Uralhimmash makes equipment for Gazprom Neft's Bovanenkovo field
YEKATERINBURG. Sept 18 (Interfax) - Uralhimmash, a chemical engineering plant in Sverdlovsk Region run by UZHM Management Company, has completed manufacturing and begun delivering equipment for Gazprom Neft-Zapolyarye LLC, a subsidiary of Russian oil company Gazprom Neft , for the development of the Bovanenkovo oil and gas condensate field in the Arctic, the plant said.
Under the contract, the plant will deliver modular equipment for three process lines of a low temperature condensation unit with which the oil company plans to treat and process gas produced at the field, where potential output is estimated at 140 billion cubic meters per year.
The modules were built at Uralhimmash facilities in Yekaterinburg and Glazov. Each line of the unit includes heat exchange modules, degassers, separators and isolators.
Due to its large size, the equipment is being delivered in parts by sea and by land, the plant's project management director, Roman Zaripov said in the press release. The degassers and light gas separators have already arrived at the construction site by sea and the plant intends to soon ship the first sets of heat exchangers and heavy condensate separators. Most of the equipment will be shipped to the customer in September, Zaripov said.
The separation modules are intended for separating gas from liquid, the degassers help recover gas dissolved in the liquid flow, the isolators divide the liquid flow into unstable hydrocarbon condensate, water-methane mix and gas form, while the heat exchangers maintain the necessary temperature for these processes.
Uralhimmash manufactures equipment for the petrochemical, oil and gas processing, and nuclear and conventional energy industries. The company was put under the management of UZHM Management Company in February 2022.
Gazprom Neft-Zapolyarye, which was established to carry out major Gazprom Neft upstream projects, is developing nine fields in Russia, including Bovanenkovo, based on long-term risk operatorship agreements with license holders that are subsidiaries of gas giant Gazprom .
Bovanenkovo, which Gazprom launched in 2012, is the largest oil and gas condensate field on the Yamal Peninsula by proven reserves.
