Kazakhstan to deliver 180,000 tonnes of Russian oil to Uzbekistan in 2023 - KazTransOil

ASTANA. Aug 18 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan plans to deliver 180,000 tonnes of Russian oil to Uzbekistan in 2023, said Abay Beisembayev, the head of the oil transportation department of KazTransOil.

"The transportation of Russian oil amounted to 48,500 tonnes in the first half of the yea. The total volume of Russian oil transit through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is expected to come to 180,000 tonnes [in the 12 months of] this year," Beisembayev said during the KazTransOil Issuer Day at the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange on Friday.

Kazakhstan will deliver 131,500 tonnes of Russian oil to Uzbekistan in the second half of the year, making the total for the year up to 180,000 tonnes, the KazTransOil press service told Interfax.

KazTransOil delivered 37,900 tonnes of Russian oil to Uzbekistan in the second quarter and 10,700 tonnes in the first quarter of this year.

The transportation of Russian oil through oil pipelines of KazTransOil for Uzbekistan began in 2017, including 67,900 tonnes pumped in 2017 and 36,000 tonnes in 2018. There was no transportation of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan in 2019-2022.

KazTransOil, part of National Company KazMunayGas, is the national operator of oil pipelines in Kazakhstan. The company owns and operates 5,400 km of oil pipelines.
