Guinea-Bissau's president urges more cooperation with Lukoil

ST. PETERSBURG. July 31 (Interfax) - The authorities of Guinea-Bissau would like to cooperate more actively with Lukoil in oil production, the country's president Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embalo said.

"There is a Russian company, Lukoil, which is an expert in the field of petroleum. This company carries out offshore exploration in our country. We would like the Russian government to promote a more active involvement of this company in oil production," Embalo said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday.

"You have a lot of experience and we are open to such cooperation [and] ready to intensify our contact with Russian business representatives in this sphere," the leader of Guinea-Bissau said.
