Lithuanian president calls for reinforcing border with Belarus

MINSK. June 26 (Interfax) - Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has called for reinforcing his country's border with Belarus in the wake of the latest events in Russia.

"If [Wagner group chief Yevgeny] Prigozhin or part of Wagner group end up in Belarus with vague plans and vague intentions, this would only mean that we need to tighten security of our eastern borders even more," Nauseda told journalists in commenting on decisions made at a Lithuanian State Defense Council meeting.

"I am speaking here not only about Lithuania but undoubtedly about the whole of NATO," Nauseda said.
