Nuland sees Ukraine's future in EU
MOSCOW. May 26 (Interfax) - U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland has said she believes that Ukraine has everything necessary to head to EU membership.
"Speaking about Ukrainian economy, we mean not only survival, but prosperity as well. We believe that Ukraine enjoys all the necessary components to move towards its membership in the European Union and to play a significant role in gaining prosperity not only for itself, but for enhancing stability and harmony in the whole of Europe," the Ukrainian media has quoted Nuland as saying in a virtual speech at the Kiev Security Forum, organized by Open Ukraine: Arseny Yatsenyuk Foundation, on Thursday.
In her words, the United States will be supporting Ukraine for as long as necessary. This is not about today or tomorrow, but as long as it takes, Nuland said.
