European Commission president estimates new package of EU sanctions against Russia at 11 bln euros

BRUSSELS. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The tenth package of sanctions against Russia will envisage additional trade bans and control over exports of technologies to Russia, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said.

"This package as a whole is worth 11 billion euros. In particular, we propose limits on dozens of electronic components used in Russian military systems, such as drones, missiles, helicopters," von der Leyen said at a European Parliament session in Strasbourg.

"This is also the first time we propose that sanctions be imposed on Iranian operators, including those associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. It is our duty to do so. It is our duty to impose sanctions on them," von der Leyen said.
