Zelensky lauds his meeting with British monarch

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said after his meeting with British King Charles III in London that it is an honor for him to be the first Ukrainian president who was granted an audience by the British monarch.

"I met with King Charles III of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. I congratulated him on his recent ascension to the throne and wished peace and prosperity to the British people. It is an honor for me to be the first president of Ukraine in the history of Ukrainian-British relations to be honored by the British monarch with an audience," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Zelensky as saying in a social media post on Wednesday.

The Ukrainian president also thanked Charles III for the warm welcome and support of Ukrainian citizens who have found refuge in the UK.
