New transport, infrastructure routes in South Caucasus would serve interests of all countries in region - Russian PM
ALMATY. Feb 2 (Interfax) - Russia favors the unblocking of transport and economic routes in the South Caucasus, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.
"We traditionally favor the unblocking of economic and transport ties in the South Caucasus, we consider it important to make sure the agreements, reached by the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, are implemented," Mishustin said during talks with his Armenian counterpart Nikol Pashinyan on Thursday.
"Creating new transport, infrastructure routes is in the interests of all states in the region," he added.
Pashinyan drew attention to the Lachin corridor issue, noting a "humanitarian crisis developing in Nagorno-Karabakh."
"The Russian Federation is a key security partner for the Republic of Armenia," he said.
