UK PM Sunak visits Zelensky in Kiev, pledges to continue aid
MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - The United Kingdom will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said.
"I am here today to say the UK and our allies will continue to stand with Ukraine," Sunak said at a press conference with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Kiev last Saturday.
The UK has provided Ukraine with over 3 billion pounds in military aid this year alone and is planning to offer it another 50 million pounds in aid to strengthen its air defense, he said.
Sunak also confirmed 12 million pounds for the World Food Program's response to Ukraine and 4 million pounds for the International Organization for Migration.
The funding would help provide generators and mobile health clinics, and the UK is also sending tens of thousands of extreme cold winter kits for Ukrainian troops, he said.
"I am thankful for the principled support of Ukraine and for maximum constructiveness in negotiations," Ukrainian media quoted Zelensky as saying on Telegram.
