Coronavirus sickness rate down 39.3% in Russia over past week - coronavirus response HQ
MOSCOW. Oct 10 (Interfax) - The coronavirus sickness rate in Russia was down 39.3% last week from the week before, according to data released by the coronavirus response headquarters on Monday.
The coronavirus sickness rate increased in one region of the country and decreased in 84 regions, the report said.
"The coronavirus sickness rate was 99.36 per 100,000 people last week, which is a 39.3% decrease from the week before. The sickness rate increased in one region of Russia," the report said.
The coronavirus response headquarters said the coronavirus sickness rate has decreased in 84 regions from the week before. The decrease was the largest in the Volgograd region, 67.4%, followed by 56.4% in the Vologda region, 47.4% in the Republic of Mordovia, 49.3% in the Bryansk region, 43.6% in the Smolensk region, and 40.1% in the Altai Territory, it said.
The coronavirus response headquarters also said the hospitalization rate reached 9.4 per 100,000 people last week, which is a 23.4% decrease from the week before. The hospitalization rate increased in ten regions of Russia, including an increase higher than the national average in four regions.
According to the coronavirus response headquarters, 21,218,993 coronavirus cases, 388,295 deaths and 20,439,043 recoveries have been recorded in Russia since the start of the pandemic.
