National Bank of Kazakhstan holds base rate at 14.5%

ALMATY. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Kazakhstan has decided to hold the base rate at 14.5% per annum with an interest rate band of ±1 percentage point, the regulator said in a statement.

The standing facilities rates are set at 15.5% for liquidity provision and at 13.5% for liquidity withdrawal operations.

The decision takes into account the prevailing economic situation, risks and updated outlooks of the National Bank, according to the statement.

The next decision on the base rate will be announced by the National Bank on October 24, 2022 at 2 pm Nur-Sultan time.
