Second vessel enters Chornomorsk Port to transport Ukrainian crops under Istanbul deal

MOSCOW. Aug 11 (Interfax) - The Liberian-flagged bulker Osprey S has arrived at the Chornomorsk Commercial Sea Port in Ukraine as part of the grain initiative to collect 30,000 tonnes of Ukrainian corn.

The Osprey S is the second vessel that has entered the Chornomorsk Port to take cargo on board under the Initiative on the Safe Transportation of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports, the Ukrainian media said, citing the Infrastructure Ministry of Ukraine.

As reported, on July 22, Ukraine, Turkey and Russia signed a UN-brokered agreement on creating a corridor for the safe transportation of grain and food products from three Ukrainian ports: Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny (Yuzhny).

Twelve vessels have already left Ukrainian ports under this deal, carrying 370,000 tonnes of agricultural products to seven countries.

The first such vessel with Ukrainian corn has already entered a Turkish port for unloading.
