Roskomnadzor urges Telegram to delete bots gathering info on Russian servicemen
MOSCOW. March 3 (Interfax) - Russian telecoms watchdog Roskomnadzor has said it has demanded that Telegram delete bots which are gathering information on servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces
As reported, Roskomnadzor "is identifying Internet resources, including Telegram bots, which offer information on servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces who are allegedly on the lists of captives or of those killed during the special operation in Ukraine."
"Roskomnadzor has forwarded a demand to Telegram to delete the detected Internet resources. Furthermore, this information has been sent to investigative agencies to prosecute those who are guilty," Roskomnadzor said.
"In order to mislead users, the aforementioned websites and bots have been devised on a number of occasions using the names of popular services which are trusted by the Internet audience. As a result, those who create such resources seek to gather true information on servicemen and members of their families, cyiznically playing on the feelings of their parents and other close ones," it said.
