Zelensky vows to support pensioners, unemployed
KYIV. March 3 (Interfax-Ukraine) - Ukraine guarantees the payment of pensions increased in accordance with inflation by 14% starting March 1, and this money has already been forwarded to banks, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
"We are providing for the full payment of pensions. I mean indexed pensions. Just as it is supposed to be in line with the law. Starting March 1, pensions for Ukrainians have been indexed up by 14%. The money has already been directed to banks," Zelensky said in a video address on Thursday.
In addition, the government has drawn up a special support program for Ukrainians who have lost their jobs, under which they will receive 6,500 hryvni each without any preconditions, he said.
