Russian military show images from seized Chernobyl NPP
MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has released footage from the Chernobyl nuclear power plant (NPP) seized by Russian troops, saying the situation there was under control.
"The situation is controllable. The plant's civilian staff are working normally. The level of radiation is normal," a Russian defense official said in the video.
"Both we and NPP specialists carry out radiation checks six times a day," he said.
A civilian employee also said that there were no excessive figures.
The images show Russian troops watching CCTV cameras jointly with Ukrainian guards. Also, the clip shows a Russian APC involved in providing security.
