Suspension of Russia's membership in Council of Europe makes this organization useless - Zakharova
MOSCOW. Feb 26 (Interfax) - Russia's suspended membership in the Council of Europe makes the organization meaningless, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"I saw the news of the Council of Europe, and they decided to... what there? Deprive us of rights? Restrict? Expel? That simply means the end of the existence of this organization, it becomes useless," Zakharova said during the Bolshaya Igra (Big Game) program on Channel One.
She noted that discussing Russia without Russia would mean that the decisions it makes would have no legal force, while "the Council of Europe has no other agenda."
