EAEU countries to come up with common policies to reduce negative effect of external pressure - Belarusian PM

MINSK. Feb 25 (Interfax) - The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) intend to come up with common policies to reduce the negative effect from external pressure, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said.

"The countries intend to come up with common policies that will at least reduce the negative effect from external pressure. We feel the support of other EAEU members," Golovchenko was quoted as saying by the state agency BelTA in Nur-Sultan on Friday.

The countries are analyzing the risks associated with sanctions pressure, thinking what measures can be taken on a collective level, Golovchenko said.

"This process is not over yet. Our partners understand that the situation can change dynamically, and we should be ready to respond collectively," he said.

The Belarusian prime minister said a decision on common response measures has not been made yet, and it is possible that there is no need for it as every country has its own policies. "It's more important to secure our national risks in the union by finding ways that will prevent sanctions and pressure from being effective," the prime minister said.
