Belarusian State Border Committee announces reinforcement of protection of country's state border with Ukraine, EU countries

MINSK. Feb 24 (Interfax) - The protection of the Belarusian state border has been reinforced, the Belarusian State Border Committee said on Thursday.

"Border guard agencies have reinforced the protection of the border with the EU countries and Ukraine with regard for the current situation to prevent provocations. Security has been tightened at checkpoints," the report said.

"The Belarusian side is ready to ensure passage of citizens of Belarus returning from the territory of Ukraine," the agency said.
