Tajikistan raises import duties on certain types of alcohol, tobacco products
DUSHANBE. Nov 3 (Interfax) - Tajikistan has raised import customs duties on certain types of alcohol and tobacco products, with the changes particularly affecting imported wine, spirits, and tobacco goods, according to the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the republic.
The changes are stipulated in Tajikistan government resolution No. 567, dated August 26, 2026, "On Amendments to the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated August 28, 2024, No. 470," as published on the Justice Ministry's legal information system.
Specifically, the government has hiked duties on certain categories of alcoholic beverages, including wine, vermouth, other fermented drinks, ethyl alcohol, and spirits, as well as on certain types of raw tobacco, tobacco products, and nicotine-containing goods.
The trade representation has advised Russian exporters supplying these products to the Tajik market to account for the new rates when planning contractual obligations and organizing shipments.
