Russian-Egyptian relations developing successfully, trade increasing, implementation of El Dabaa NPP project on schedule - Putin

MOSCOW. Oct 28 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed to discuss the promising development tracks of relations between Russia and Egypt during a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

"Today you and I have a good opportunity to continue discussing the promising tracks of long-term bilateral cooperation. We'll also talk about other issues of mutual interests," Putin said in the beginning of the meeting.

Bilateral relations are developing successfully in accordance with the Treaty on the Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation, he said.

"Trade is growing steadily, despite regional tensions. It already increased by 14% in the first eight months of this year. It reached record parameters in 2025, surpassing $10 million for the first time," Putin said.

Speaking about specific interaction tracks, he mentioned the El Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) construction project in Egypt, adding that its implementation is on schedule.

"Over 1.2 million of our tourists visited Egypt in the first six months of this year. And about one and a half million in the entire 2025," he said.
