Uzbekistan to establish Council of Investors in Energy Sector
TASHKENT. Oct 16 (Interfax) - Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has decided to establish a Council of Investors in the Fuel and Energy Sector.
Head of the Presidential Office Saida Mirziyoyeva will head the council.
"The Council will focus on the prompt resolution of issues faced by investors, from land allocation to the commissioning of facilities," Mirziyoyev said at an open dialogue with investors in the sector.
He said that energy projects require substantial investment and complex infrastructure, consequently, even a single delay, whether in land allocation, grid connection, or the issuance of technical specifications, could affect the project as a whole.
Companies including ACWA, Vision Invest, DataVolt, Voltalia and EDF have proposed addressing such matters through an ongoing dialogue.
