EAEU countries to create Eurasian digital platform for coordinating agricultural innovations

MOSCOW. Oct 16 (Interfax) - The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) plan to form a Eurasian digital platform that will become a single tool for coordinating scientific and innovative cooperation in the agricultural sphere.

A report on the formation of a single center for agricultural innovations was approved at a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Commission's (EEC) relevant advisory committee, the EEC's press service said. It includes a review of the scientific and practical activities of the union's countries and an analysis of international experience and the concept of the Eurasian digital platform.

In addition, a draft of requirements for the system for ensuring the fulfillment of obligations under warehouse receipts for agricultural products was considered at the meeting. The document aims to protect holders of warehouse receipts and pledgees from non-fulfillment of obligations under the receipts issued to them. It was developed to implement the provisions of the agreement on the rules for the issuance, circulation and redemption of warehouse receipts for agricultural products within the EAEU, which entered into force on June 1, 2026.

Members of the committee also approved a draft of the procedure for the formation and updating of a common information resource on infrastructure facilities for storing agricultural products. This document will make it possible to optimize the logistics of the agro-food market, increase the efficiency of using the resource potential of the participating countries and build a digital food ecosystem.

Other issues were also considered at the meeting.
