KAZAN. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Kuibyshev Railways, a branch of OJSC Russian Railways (RZD), has sent its first train of wheat exports bound for Vietnam from the Deng Xiaoping logistics hub in Tatarstan, the railway's press service reported.

The train, consisting of 76 containers with 2,000 tonnes of wheat, departed from the hub's One Belt One Road terminal, and will finish its journey in Vladivostok. From there, the containers will be sent to Vietnam by sea.

There are plans to expand the range of cargo shipments exported to Vietnam from the terminal in future.

The construction of the Deng Xiaoping logistics hub was reported to have begun in 2023. RZD later joined the railway tracks from the terminal up with the Krugloye Pole and Nikashnovka train stations. In October 2024, the railway transported the first containerized exports to China from the terminal.
