Turkmenistan's GDP grows 6.3% in 9M - dep PM
ASHGABAT. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan's GDP grew 6.3% in January-September 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov said at a government meeting.
The industrial sector grew 3%, construction - 6.7%, transport and communications - 10.4%, trade - 8.4%, agriculture - 4.1% and the services sector - 8.4%.
"Overall goods output increased by 9.9% in January-September 2026 compared to the same period last year. Positive results were achieved across economic sectors," the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper quoted him as saying.
Retail trade rose 10.5%, and foreign trade grew 8.3%.
"The state budget revenue target was fulfilled by 100.1%, and expenditure by 97.2%. Capital investment from all sources was 3.5% higher than in the same period last year," Geldimyradov said.
The government has said Turkmenistan's economy grew 6.3% in 2025 and the same growth is forecast for 2026. The presidential program for 2022-2028 targets annual growth of at least 6.7% through 2028.
