Gold miner UGC shareholders approve new board
MOSCOW. Oct 5 (Interfax) - Shareholders in gold miner Uzhuralzoloto Group (UGC) have approved a new board of directors.
The company said all nine candidates were elected to the board.
As reported, nine candidates were nominated for nine seats on the board: Oleg Ferdman, a tunneling project expert at BTS-Most, representing the largest shareholder; Gazprombank Managing Director Irina Shirokova and GPB Asset Development Executive Director Alexei Nesgovorov, representing Gazprombank; UGC and subsidiary managers Larisa Ivleva, Viktor Karpov, Nikolai Gusev and Artem Koval; and independent directors HeadHunter CFO/COO Dmitry Gordeyev and NSD Supervisory Board member Dina Mikryukova.
UGC is one of Russia's biggest gold miners. It has two hubs - Urals, in the Chelyabinsk region, and Siberia in the Krasnoyarsk territory and Khakassia.
BTS-Most Holding won an auction for the state-owned 67% stake in UGC in June. The second biggest shareholder is Gazprombank with 22%, according to the latest disclosed data.
