PSB interested in developing cooperation with Belarus

MINSK. Oct 5 (Interfax) - PSB Bank is interested in developing cooperation with Belarus, the bank's chairman Pyotr Fradkov said at a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.

"Belarus is an absolute priority and always has been," Fradkov was quoted as saying by the Belarusian state agency BelTA.

Fradkov expressed gratitude to Lukashenko for the opportunity to meet. He emphasized that developing interaction and partnership ties in Belarus is of great importance for him personally and for PSB Bank.

"For us, it is very important that this cooperation continues and develops, and in completely different areas," he said. Among such areas are interbank interaction, cooperation with industrial enterprises, and work in the sphere of leasing services in the future.

"We have always been, are and continue to be one of the key partners of the Belarusian banking system as a whole, one of the major creditors of banks. This is important for us. We are developing this area," Fradkov said when characterizing the level of interbank interaction.

Work with Belarusian industrial companies is ongoing, he said. The circle of business partners includes the Minsk Automobile Plant (MAP), Belaz and Belarusian Railway.

"We are now going through all the required procedures for working with the state leasing company," Fradkov said, briefly outlining the prospects for cooperation in the Belarusian financial market.

"We are very positive about your bank in Belarus and would like the closest possible cooperation with your bank," Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the First Man's Pool Telegram channel, which is close to the Belarusian presidential press service.

PSB bank ranks fifth by size of assets and capital in Q2 2026 in the Interfax 100 ranking prepared by Interfax-CEA.
