Belarusian Commodity Exchange to expand cooperation with Kazakhstan
MINSK. Oct 2 (Interfax) - The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) and the Kazakh Foreign Trade Chamber will join efforts to involve Kazakh business in exchange trading with Belarusian enterprises, BUCE's press service said on Friday.
"An agreement on cooperation between the parties was reached following a meeting between the head of the BUCE foreign economic activity department, Yaroslav Kovalchuk, and the chairman of the board of the Kazakh Foreign Trade Chamber, Murat Karimsakov, held as part of a meeting of the Belarusian-Kazakh Business Council," the press service said.
It was reported that the key areas of joint work will be promoting exchange instruments among Kazakh exporters and importers, organizing business events, and searching for and bringing new promising commodity items in demand in the two countries' markets to the exchange platform.
"The parties will pay separate attention to simplifying access to BUCE for small and medium-sized enterprises, for which the exchange mechanism can become an effective tool for selling domestically produced items abroad," the press service said.
As reported by BUCE's press service, as of August this year, Kazakh business held seventh place in terms of the sum of transactions among residents of 84 foreign states accredited on the exchange. In 2026, Belarusian sugar, powdered milk, butter and lumber were regularly supplied to Kazakhstan through the exchange, while spare parts for industrial equipment and rolled pipe products were imported from Kazakhstan.
