Central Bank of Russia exploring use of AI agents to process payments

MOSCOW. Sept 29 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia is exploring the possibility of using AI agents to process payments, Anton Stepanov, director of the AI Expertise Center at the Central Bank's Financial Technology Department, said.

"We at the Central Bank have been closely monitoring the development of AI agent technology. We are currently looking into opportunities for the balanced implementation of these agents in the financial market, particularly in the payments sector," Stepanov said at a roundtable discussion organized by the Federation Council's committee on constitutional legislation and state building.
