Russia's Sirius to host 2nd International Youth Festival in 2030 - Russian deputy PM

MOSCOW. Sept 23 (Interfax) - Russia's Sirius Federal Territory will host the 2nd International Youth Festival in 2030, and preparations are already underway, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

"We will host the next event in Krasnoyarsk in 2028, it will be a specialized youth gathering," Chernyshenko told Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with government members via videoconference on Wednesday.

Sirius will host the 2nd International Youth Festival in 2030, Chernyshenko said. "We have already begun preparations," he added.

The recent International Youth Festival took place in Yekaterinburg from September 11 to 17.

"We implemented best practices in Yekaterinburg, where the young people learned a great deal about Russia, myths were dispelled, and, most importantly, they took the truth about our country home with them. We had over 4,000 foreign participants, including 344 from the Americas alone, 290 from Europe, 629 from Africa, 1,000 each from the Asia-Pacific region and the Middle East, and over 1,000 from neighboring countries. It is essential that those who attended the festival are still talking about it today. We see this in their posts. It is especially valuable that they are doing so sincerely, including foreign bloggers and journalists with audiences numbering in the millions, while the total number of posts has exceeded half a million," Chernyshenko added.

He said that 1,000 foreign guests traveled to other regions of Russia following the festival, half of them served as international election experts during the recent elections, contributing to their transparency and successful conduct.
