Novak instructs ministries to develop risk scenarios for fuel market, factoring in growth of production of petroleum products, adjusted import volumes
MOSCOW. Sept 21 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has instructed relevant ministries to develop possible risk scenarios, factoring in measures taken to increase production of petroleum products and an adjustment of petroleum product import volumes, the Russian government said in a statement following its latest meeting on the fuel market situation.
"Alexander Novak has instructed the relevant ministries and industry companies to continue working together to saturate the domestic market with petroleum products and ensure stable supply to regions. It was also noted that long-term decisions should take into account possible risk scenarios, which should stipulate timely response measures, including the production of petroleum products and adjustment of fuel import volumes," the statement reads.
During the meeting, the Energy Ministry presented a report on the current situation on the petroleum product market, fuel reserves and the utilization of production capacities. Part of the meeting was dedicated to the situation around fuel supply to regions of Siberia - the Republic of Tyva, Khakassia, Yakutia, the Novosibirsk region and the Krasnoyarsk territory.
"Industry companies have informed us that they have carried out the instructions given previously. For example, we discussed petroleum product shipments to the most vulnerable regions, the fulfilment of Northern delivery obligations and measures to supply regions with fuel in volumes which are no less than those of 2025," the statement says.
