Progress MS-35 cargo spacecraft put on orbit, heading to ISS - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Sept 16 (Interfax) - A Soyuz-2.1b rocket has put into orbit the Progress MS-35 cargo spacecraft, Roscosmos said in its broadcast.

The spacecraft separated from the launch vehicle's third stage and set a course for the International Space Station (ISS). The docking with the Poisk module of the Russian segment of the ISS is scheduled for 4:46 p.m. Moscow time on September 19.

The space freighter will deliver over 2.4 tonnes of supplies to the station, including 842 kilograms of fuel for refueling, 420 kilograms of drinking water, 50 kilograms of air to replenish the atmosphere, and 525 kilograms of equipment and consumables for station maintenance and the crew's scientific work.

The equipment and supplies for the following experiments have also been sent to the ISS, namely, for Gas Analyzer-FS, Teledroid, Biopolymer, Virtual, Vampir, Uragan, and Separation.

While Progress cargo spacecraft have previously been launched into orbit using Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicles, this marks the first cargo mission to the ISS using the Soyuz-2.1b modification.

A seven-member crew is currently working on the ISS, including Roscosmos cosmonauts Pyotr Dubrov, Anna Kikina, and Andrei Fedyayev, NASA astronauts Jessica Meir, Anil Menon and Jack Hathaway, and European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adenot.
