Lukoil begins oil production at Komandirshorskaya group of fields in Nenets Autonomous District

MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Lukoil has implemented the first stage of a large investment project to develop the Komandirshorskaya group of fields in the Nenets Autonomous District, and is now able to begin the industrial development of the fields following the construction and commissioning of the Komandirshor oil preparation unit (OPU), which has a capacity of over 800,000 tonnes of oil, the company reported.

The preparation system for associated gas with a high hydrogen sulfide content uses technologies developed and patented in Russia.

The project infrastructure will also allow nearby oil fields to be developed.

The Komandirshorskaya group of fields is located in the Layskiy Bar of the Timan-Pechora Oil and Gas Province. Construction work on the OPU began in December 2023. For the development of the fields, a shift settlement containing residential and administration and household buildings has been built, as well as a supporting road network and an external energy supply system. It has also built an oil and gas gathering system and multi-well pads.

At an auction in 2014, Lukoil subsidiary Lukoil-Komi won subsoil rights for the North Komandirshorskoye block, with C1 reserves of 1.033 million tonnes, as well as West Komandishorskoye, with C1 reserves of 2.113 million tonnes, and Komandishorskoye, with C1 reserves of 1.276 million tonnes.
