Russia's United Aircraft Corporation and India's NAL close to finalizing licensing agreement for localization of Superjet 100 - UAC CEO

DELHI. Sept 9 (Interfax) - The licensing agreement for localizing the production of SJ-100 aircraft in India is close to being finalized and will be signed by the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) corporation in the near future, CEO Vadim Badekha, head of Rostec subsidiary PJSC United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), said at the Innoprom. India forum.

"To date, we have finalized over 80% of the licensing agreement, and plan to sign it in the near future. At the upcoming AeroIndia 2027 exhibition, we hope to sign a contract with our first Indian operator [of the SJ-100]," Badekha is quoted as saying by the UAC press service.

He also said that at the Wings of India exhibition in January, the UAC had "made significant progress" in negotiations and reached a series of agreements on the Il-114-300 aircraft. It plans to have these signed at Innoprom. India, at which it is presenting solutions for developing air transportation.

In January this year, the UAC and HAL signed a collaboration agreement, which is expected to form the basis for the licensed production of the "superjets" in India. Production itself could begin in three years' time, and the UAC hopes to begin producing 20-40 aircraft each year in future, Badekha has said. He also said that localized production of the Il-114-300 aircraft could also potentially begin, with annual production subsequently increasing to 30-40 planes.
