Russia's United Engine Corporation mulling aircraft engine JV in India - DPIIT
NEW DELHI. Sept. 9 (Interfax) - Russian United Engine Corporation (UEC), a Rostec state corporation, is thinking of forming a joint venture to manufacture aircraft engines in India, said Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) at India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
"United Engine Corporation is exploring the possible joint production of aircraft engines in India," he said at the Innoprom. India forum.
He said Russia and India already had agreements on aircraft manufacturing in India, notably the Superjet 100 project.
United Aircraft Corporation and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signed an agreement at the start of the year to collaborate in the licensed production of regional Superjet 100 aircraft in India.
