Port in Primorye slightly reduces coal handling for export in Jan-Aug

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Maly Port Stevedoring Company, LLC, the operator of the marine terminal at Vostochny Port in the Primorsk Territory, managed by JSC Port Alliance, boosted export coal transshipment 7.9% year-on-year to 372,100 tonnes in August 2026, the stevedore company reports.

As previously reported, transshipment totaled 2.08 million tonnes from January to July 2026. This means the terminal handled 2.45 million tonnes over the eight months, a 1% decrease compared to the same period in 2025.

Maly Port operates a universal transshipment complex in Vostochny Port, consisting of three berths with a total length of 416 meters and a quayside depth of up to 12 meters. The company currently specializes in coal exports, with China as its primary market. In 2025, the port handled 3.61 million tonnes of coal, a 2.6% increase compared to 2024.

Port Alliance JSC JSC includes Murmansk Commercial Sea Port , Murmansk Bulk Terminal LLC, Tuapse Bulk Terminal LLC, Daltransugol JSC (DTU, a coal terminal in the Khabarovsk port of Vanino), and Stevedoring Company Maly Port LLC. The combined capacity of these five assets exceeds 53 million tonnes of cargo per year.
