Russian nuclear power plants generate 149 bln kWh of electricity so far in 2026

MOSCOW. Sept 7 (Interfax) - Russian nuclear power plants generated 149.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity as of September 7, the Rosatom state corporation's Rosenergoatom division, said.

This is 6.73% more than the target set by the Federal Anti-monopoly Service.

The State Statistics Service (Rosstat) has said nuclear plants raised output 2.2% year-on-year to 126 billion kWh in January-July.

They produced 218.35 billion kWh in 2025.

Rosatom chief Alexei Likhachev has said the corporation intends to over-fulfill the government's target of at least 214 billion kWh in 2026 as a whole.
