First Vostok Oil crude to be shipped to consumers soon - Putin

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept. 3 (Interfax) - The first oil from Rosneft's Vostok Oil project will be shipped to consumers soon, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.

"I would like to mention a landmark event coming up soon. At one of our largest Arctic projects - Vostok Oil in the Krasnoyarsk territory - a trunk oil pipeline to a new terminal in Sever Bay will be launched. The first oil will also be shipped. It will be shipped to customers via our Arctic shipping routes," Putin said.

The Vostok Oil project envisages development of oil fields on the Taimyr Peninsula. The Vostok Oil project's resource base is more than 6.5 billion tonnes of premium low-sulfur oil. It includes 52 licenses in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District, where 13 oil and gas fields are located, including the fields of the Vankor and Payakha clusters.
