Russian deputy PM instructs Energy Ministry, FAS to intensify control over pricing at independent filling stations
MOSCOW. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Following a regular meeting on the petroleum product market, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has instructed the Energy Ministry and the Federal Anti-monopoly Service (FAS) to intensify control and oversight of pricing at independent filling stations, the government press service reported.
Particular attention is being paid to implementing the agreements between regional operators and the networks of large, independent filling stations. Work on implementing the agreements will continue in collaboration with the regions. The relevant agencies have been instructed to monitor implementation and take additional measures to maintain supply stability and market pricing if necessary.
Novak urged meeting participants to act proactively, identify potential risks promptly, and take the necessary measures in a timely manner in order to prevent fuel shortages and to ensure stability on the domestic market.
