Uzbekistan exports $1.3 bln of gold in July after two-month pause

TASHKENT. Aug 28 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan exported gold worth $1.3 billion in July 2026 after a two-month pause, the Uzbek National Statistics Committee said in a publication.

Apart from July, Uzbekistan has only exported gold in April this year.

According to the statistics, it exported non-monetary gold for a sum of $2.804 billion in January-July 2026. The share of gold in overall exports decreased to 14.1% from 36.7% a year previously (around $7.6 billion).

As reported, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan exported 100 tonnes of gold in 2025.

Gold is one of Uzbekistan's key export goods and most important sources of currency revenue. According to official data, the country produced 118.4 tonnes in 2025.

Gold production is carried out by two major producers in Uzbekistan - the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company and Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex.

Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said in an address to parliament and citizens in late 2025 that the country would increase its gold output to a planned 175 tonnes by 2030.
