Vladivostok Sea Fish Port terminates coal transshipment operations - shareholder

VLADIVOSTOK. Aug 27 (Interfax) - OJSC Vladivostok Sea Fish Port, a stevedoring company at the port of Vladivostok, is terminating coal transshipment operations, Sergei Darkin, former governor of the Primorye territory and one of the port's biggest shareholders, said.

"Each month, the port handled around 100,000 tonnes of coal. But in the interests of the residents of our city and in order to increase quality of life for our population, we have taken the decision to terminate operations with coal," he is quoted as saying by the press service of OJSC TIGR (Pacific Ocean Investment Group), a Vladivostok company of which Darkin is owner and CEO.

The press service said that the port continued to handle other types of cargo, including dry and refrigerated containerized cargo, automobiles and general cargo.

Vladivostok Sea Fish Port is a universal transshipment complex. In 2025, it processed over 5 million tonnes of cargo, down 4% from 2024, including 317,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU), 1.227 million tonnes of coal and 200,600 tonnes of fish produce.

As of June 2026, the port is almost wholly owned by Moscow-based Geotex LLC with a 99.7567% stake. Darkin is also one of the co-owners of this company.
