Russia continues working with OPEC+ partners to maintain oil market stability - Foreign Ministry

MOSCOW. Aug 27 (Interfax) - Moscow continues working with its OPEC+ partners to ensure oil market stability, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"We continue our dialogue and joint work with our OPEC+ partners to maintain oil market stability. Steady and reliable supplies of Russian energy resources allow our partners to secure sustainable economic growth, meet social objectives, combat energy deficiency, and promote food security," she said at a press briefing.

Zakharova mentioned that the Russian side believes that "cooperation in the energy sector should be built on an equal and non-discriminatory basis, taking into account the interests of energy consumers and producers."

"We stand up for the sovereign right of states to their own energy resources and reject any external interference in the affairs of other countries, the use of anti-market methods to counter competitors on energy markets, and the state's demand to limit the range of trading partners," she said.
