Belarus, Russia to jointly spend almost 2 bln Russian rubles on program to overcome Chernobyl NPP disaster aftermath

MINSK. Aug 24 (Interfax) - The Council of Ministers of the Union State of Belarus and Russia has approved a Union State program of joint Belarusian-Russian activities aimed at overcoming negative effects of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) disaster.

Total funding for the program in 2026-2030 has been set at 1,998.321,000 Russian rubles from the Union State budget, under a resolution published on the website of the Union State Permanent Committee.

That includes up to 1,297,990,400 Russian rubles from Russia and up to 700,330,600 Russian rubles from Belarus.
