Russia to continue expanding partnership with Indonesia - Putin

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto on Indonesia's Independence Day and said that Moscow will continue to expand its partnership with Indonesia, including on international platforms.

"Relations between Moscow and Jakarta are developing most successfully, as evidenced by our productive contacts with you. Undoubtedly, we will continue our constructive joint efforts to further expand our mutually beneficial partnership - both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of BRICS, the Russia-ASEAN Dialogue, and other international formats," the greetings, published on the Kremlin website on Monday, said.

Indonesia "has attained universally recognized achievements in the economic and social spheres and enjoys well-deserved respect on the global stage," Putin said.

He also said he was hoping to meet with the Indonesian counterpart in Vladivostok in early September.
