SPB Exchange working on launching derivatives on blocked foreign shares
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - The SPB Exchange is working on launching trading in deliverable derivatives on blocked foreign shares, SPB Exchange CEO Yevgeny Serdyukov said in a statement.
"We have considered two options, namely trading directly in the blocked shares or in deliverable derivatives on the blocked securities. We have analyzed the experience of trading in blocked shares on our colleagues' platform. This shows that the securities are traded at a significant discount, liquidity is extremely low, and the segment itself is niche," Serdyukov said at the annual general shareholders meeting.
"Based on this experience, we believe that launching trading in derivatives is the most appropriate model. We are currently exploring this option with market participants," Serdyukov added.
