TikTok fined 4 mln rubles for violating Russian laws

MOSCOW. July 28 (Interfax) - Moscow's Tagansky district court has found TikTok guilty of breaking Russian laws, Moscow City Court said on Tuesday.

"TikTok Pte.Ltd has been appointed an administrative penalty in the form of a 4 million ruble administrative fine," the press service said on Tuesday.

The social media site was found guilty of failure by the owner of a social network to comply with a requirement from a federal executive authority.

TikTok has repeatedly been penalized by Russian courts for various administrative violations.

On March 6, 2022 the company announced its decision to temporarily ban the posting of new clips and livestreams from Russia because of the country's law regarding false information.
